SUPPORT FOR ADULTS WITH AN AUTISM SPECTRUM:

- Cotswold Aspies – Adult Social Group (aged 16+) – Cheltenham and Cirencester

- Gloucestershire Youth Support Team

 

This service provides help and support to young people up to the age of 19 (or 25 for those with special needs) on a range of issues, i.e. education employment and training, emotional health and well-being, problems with drugs and alcohol, housing, etc.

They support adults 18+ (or going through transition to adult services) with an autism spectrum.  This includes support with social inclusion and practical support with housing, employment, health issues, etc. which may involve a programme of six months based on a person centred approach, on a 1:1 basis. Support is via professional referral or self-referral.

- Hop Skip and Jump Seven Springs Play and Support Centre - Adult Social Club

 

For adults with special needs, Hop Skip and Jump offer an adult social club on Thursday evenings (6.00-8.00pm). Hop Skip and Jump may be able to offer transport to and from the centre.

- Aspergers United - 'Free' Quarterly Newsletter (for adults aged 16 and over)

 

Asperger United is a quarterly newsletter edited by a person with Asperger syndrome, written by people with Asperger syndrome and high-functioning autism.  Each issue contains regular news from the UK and overseas, personal accounts of having Asperger syndrome or autism, a pen pal page, letters to the editor, a talent scout section.
